Central Nervous System Tumors
State of the art neurosciences research, together with the medical experience of a multidisciplinary team dedicate to your care means complex surgery for Central Nervous System tumors (either cerebral or spinal) can be performing with minimum risk and fewer complications. The neurosurgical team combines latest techniques such as microsurgery, neuroendoscopy, neuroimaging-guided surgery, neuronavigation, key hole procedures and others to ensure you have a quick and effective operation.
The expertise and the professionalism of our team of anesthesiology and intensive care services can provide care for you if you're suffering from Central Nervous System tumors classified, according to their location and topography, as "difficult", "deep", and intraventricular, at the base of the skull and in other locations normally hard to operate on.

Neurovascular Surgery
The patients diagnosed with cerebral aneurysm, intracranial arteriovenous malformation, parenchymal hematoma in the course of blood hypertension, cerebral ischemic disease or Secondary Ictus and Extracranial Caratod Thrombosis have currently better choices of treatment and chances of recovery thanks to accumulated medical experience and the development of less invasive but more precise surgical technologies in the route of topographic approach to the vascular lesion.

Neuroendoscopy
The origin of the "minimally invasive surgery" is found in the research works of W. Dandy and W.S. Mister at the beginning of the 20th century, which are preserved as principles for development and application of Neurosurgery in the modern times.
The present technology allows us to perform complex surgeries in the Central Nervous System throught small apertures in the cranium, with minimal risks and complications for the patient.
Neuroendoscopy makes it possible to treat ventricular system malformations, hydrocephaly, deep cerebral and intraventricular cysts and tumors; clearing of hematomes and the review of the functioning of ventriculoperitoneal derivations. By using this method, we gently operate pathologies of vertegral column and spinal cord such as herniated disc and syringomyelia, with good results.
Our institution has a multidisciplinary group with surgeons trained in this modern technique, state-of-the-art neuroendoscopic insrtumentarium and experienced anesthesiologists in neuroanesthesia, monitoring and brain protective techniques that assure care to neurosurgical patient.

Surgery For Pain Relief
The vast experience of the multidisciplinary group of the Clinic, some of them members of the International Association of Study and Treatment of Pain, in painful illnesses of difficult treatment together with Imaging Service, experience gained in performing and interpreting neurophysiological studies, support from neuroanesthesia techniques and protection of the Central Nervous System in surgeries guarantee optimal care to the patient with neuropathic pain of untreatable pain. We also have a Rehabilitation and Physiotherapy Department for patients requiring this therapeutical support.
Diseases or disorders to be treated with this type of surgery: trigeminal neuralgia, atypical facial algia, Arnold's suboccipital neuralgia, cervicobrachialgia, phantom limb syndrome after amputation, painful sequel of dorsal herpes zoster, painful spastic post-traumatic paraplejia, chronic lumbar pain, L-S interphase syndrom, herniated discs and painful post-operative sequelae of surgeries performed in vertebral column, and syringomyelia with pain and spasms.
