FAQ For Rehabilitation Services

Do I need to stay in a hospital?

No, there are two multi room villages dedicated to addiction rehabilitation. Patients stay in their own private rooms or may share with a relative who is invited to travel with them. Rooms are spacious with living room; bedroom, washroom, balcony and all are equipped with fridge, TV (cable), and air conditioning.

 

Will I be isolated?

No. The village is a community where everyone shares the common activities: sports, tours, therapies, swimming pool, etc.

 

Where are the villages located?

The villages are located in Holguin , a province on the east side of the island and are only minutes away from major centers and beaches.

 

Can I travel with a friend?

It is encouraged to have a friend or relative, who is willing to assist in your rehabilitation, to accompany you during the first couple of weeks of treatment.

In fact, the accommodations for your companion will be complementary during these first two weeks.

 

Is there a daily regime in the village?

Yes, although it may look as a vacation, this is a very serious rehabilitation center. You will receive professional assistance through a comprehensive, structured and proven program that will help you get through these difficult times.

 

But I don't speak Spanish, how can I communicate with the doctors and staff?

Many members of the staff including doctors speak fluent English. There will always be translators available during the therapies and other activities.

 

What can I do in my free time?

While the program is structured all patients will have free time available. The villages' support sporting activities such as baseball, volleyball and football games; as well as board games, movies and T.V. On weekends, there are excursions to different destinations: the beach, tourist attractions and so on.

Is part of the therapy, and all patients are encouraged to participate to the best of their ability.

 

Can I smoke cigarettes?

Yes, there is a store in the village where you can purchase cigarettes, as well as other amenities you may need for your stay.

 

What is not allowed in the centers?

As expected, all drugs and alcohol are absolutely prohibited. Prescription medication will be under the supervision of your attending doctor.

Visitors are welcome but visits need to be arranged in advance.

The basic ingredient to the program's success is the willingness of patient to be healed.

We won't accept any patient who has been forced against their free will into the program

 

How can I communicate with my family and friends back in Canada ?

Public telephones are available in the village for which you need to purchase prepaid cards. For practical reasons Internet is not available to the patients but emails may be sent on the patient's behalf.
